Iphone application development and Android Application development is serious business, and if you want to be the best you need some serious skills. We are always looking at new technology, for iPhones and android devices and are always being asked what is the “best” app for the iPhone, or more commonly “whats new on the market, what’s worth downloading?” So for all of you asking that very question here are a few of our top picks from the last few weeks and months.
[one_fifth] [/one_fifth] [four_fifth_last] iDisplay : Turn your iPad / iPhone into a convenient monitor for any of your Mac or Windows machines. iDisplay is a great universal app optimised specifically for iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch screens but also works well on android devices. We have been using it for a few weeks and can honestly say if you need more screen real estate on your already small travel laptop then this is the app for you. “iDisplay app turns your iPad or iPhone into secondary screen – too good to be true” MobileCrunch.[/four_fifth_last]
[one_fifth][/one_fifth] [four_fifth_last]Dropbox : Dropbox is a powerful cloud service that automatically and securely syncs a folder of files between multiple computers (Windows, Mac, or Linux). We have been using dropbox for all of our client communications and delivering our designs for years now. This app extends Dropbox to Android and interacts with other apps to open the files. A great app if you want your documents at the touch of a button.[/four_fifth_last]
[one_fifth][/one_fifth] [four_fifth_last]Amazon Kindle : First a confession, no one in the office has a Kindle e-reader but we are big fans of the Kindle mobile app. Since it was released we have all had it installed and because its in your pocket or on your iPad we read a lot more books and I can pull it and read a few pages anytime you have a couple minutes free. [one_fifth][/one_fifth] [four_fifth_last]Bump : Bump is great, bump is a fun (and useful) idea for sharing info between two phones using the accelerometer, and it works across Android and iPhone. We love this app, you can use it to share contact info, photos, and apps! What do you do? You grab a friend and you both simply open the Bump app, choose what you to share, and then hold the phones in your hands and bump your hands together, or the phones if you are protected! Whizz – done![/four_fifth_last]
[one_fifth][/one_fifth] [four_fifth_last]Shazam :If you want to impress your friends with a mobile app, you need Shazam. Ever hear a song being played at a pub or on the radio and ask, “Oh oh oh, I know this one, what song is it?” That’s where Shazam comes in. Just hit the big button and let it listen to the music, query its database, and then return the name of artist and the song – brilliant. It has about an 80% rate of success and can work even in loud noise areas.[/four_fifth_last]
[one_fifth][/one_fifth] [four_fifth_last]Angry Birds Space : Yes, we just couldnt resist it. If you have played any of the other angry birds games then this is a must. Be carefull though time does fly-by when playing this addictive game. The game includes 60 levels split into two zones: Pig Bang and Cold Cuts. A further 30 levels are available in something called the Danger Zone. Available on iPhone & Android we love this game.[/four_fifth_last]
